“I’m proud to lead an organisation that is dedicated to making a positive impact on our people, customers, partners, and communities. Over the last three years we have worked very hard to deliver on our promise of a Social Value Return on Investment of 25% into the communities we serve –  and I’m very proud that in the 2025 we achieved 34.5%, equating to £62m.
“Delivering services for local people is at the centre of what Fedcap does, and alongside our partners across the UK, I’m looking forward to the year ahead as we continue to have a positive impact on our communities.”

Susan Paterson, Executive Director of Fedcap Employment

  • Help to create new businesses, jobs, and skills
  • Increase supply chain resilience and capacity

Recruiting Locally

We remain dedicated to improving local economic growth in the communities we deliver.

We surpassed our 70% target by employing over 96% of FTE who reside within 20 miles of our offices.

Fair Working Practices

Our team has continued to demonstrate our commitment to making Fedcap a great place to work as we embed Fair Work policies into our organisational culture.

Aligned to PPN002, Mission 1, ‘Kickstart Economic Growth’, we introduced many opportunities to inspire and invest in the development of our employees. During 2025, we launched our Steps to Leadership Programme – a tailored development journey designed to equip high-potential individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to take the next step in their leadership careers.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

We’ve provided a number of opportunities for our EDI reps to engage in decision making, creating more impact on how we progress our EDI strategy. In addition, we’ve continued to upskill our people with 2852 hours EDI training completed across both our people and tier-one delivery partners to date. This demonstrates our ongoing action to identify and tackle inequality in employment, skills and pay across our workforce.

We’re proud to announce we’ve maintained a 0% median gender pay gap. This milestone reflects our commitment to promoting equal opportunities and ensuring all of our people are compensated fairly, regardless of gender. We’ve also made significant strides in addressing our ethnicity pay gap, inclusion and well-being sentiment reporting.

Fedcap is a proud Disability Confident Leader and Bronze Armed Forces Covenant signatory, showcasing our unwavering commitment to reducing the disability employment gap and dedication to creating an inclusive workplace environment, embedded across all levels of the organisation.

Improve health and well-being in the Workforce

Aligned to building an NHS fit for the future, we’re ensuring we are proactively improving the physical and mental wellbeing of our employees and supply chain in the contract workforce. We’ve continued holding WeCare sessions, aimed at raising awareness on workplace wellbeing including stress techniques and strategies. We also launched our internal Health and Wellbeing peer support team called Wellbeing Advocates, designed to provide 1:1 tailored support to colleagues.

In honour of Mental Health Awareness Week in May, we highlighted each of the five ways to mental wellbeing, including sending our people wellbeing bags containing items that enticed all the senses including a stress ball, cards of affirmations and gratitude, colouring pencils to support mindfulness activities such as arts and crafts, shower steamers, and sweets. In total, Fedcap UK has invested an SV-ROI of almost £14,000 towards mental wellbeing related campaigns.

Health and Wellbeing

Aligned with Building an NHS fit for the future, our Health and Wellbeing (HWB) Team delivered award‑winning services that created meaningful impact across local communities.

We led a virtual condition‑management programme in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Council, achieving 100% improvement in clients’ mental wellbeing, recognised internationally through the WEMWBS assessment. In Surrey, we replicated these results, achieving 95% improvement in mental health quality via ReQOL assessment through personalised 1:1 Health and Wellbeing support. We also embedded social value in our service design by offering over 330 participants both online and nature‑based health and wellbeing interventions. We continued to drive social value innovation through the implementation of our Sacro pilot project, targeted at supporting women specifically in sex work.

A testament to our success is further demonstrated by ow win at the Shine Awards 2025, recognising Fedcap’s Clubhouses for their holistic approach to physical, mental, financial, social, and emotional wellbeing.

Our Communities

SROI: £224,318 delivered through Our Communities:

Addressing the Cost of Living

  • Community Projects

We implemented 28 social value projects across our North and South contracts. Some projects were aimed at supporting our customers through the Cost of Living crisis by providing them with essential items (e.g. household, clothing, hygiene, or back-to-school). Others include collaborating with local charities to raise awareness of their specialist services including those aimed at aiding digital inclusion, customers of an under-represented population, or providing financial-related support. Further projects targeted improving the health and wellbeing of communities through active volunteering, health promotion strategies, and confidence or self-esteem-related workshops. Contract-to-date, our projects have delivered an SV-ROI of over £220,000.

  • WeCare Community Areas

These community areas, aimed at providing additional food, toiletry, and household support to customers in response to the cost of living crisis, delivered an SV-ROI of over £36,000. This includes two hours of volunteering per month contributed by our employees on sorting and stocking WeCare as well as a monthly donation contributed by our organisation to fund the project.

Volunteering

  • Employee Volunteer Scheme

Launched in 2022, the Volunteering Scheme aims to strengthen community integration and empower employees by encouraging both self-led and company-sponsored volunteering. The programme operates alongside Community Day hours, offering two pathways for our people to volunteer through either self-led or company-sponsored opportunities.

There has been a significant increase in our past financial year, resulting in roughly 165 hours volunteered!

  • Community Day

On 19 September 2025, our people across the business took part in Community Day. In total, there were 306 Fedcap UK volunteers who spent nearly 1,500 hours supporting 23 charities across the UK. That amounts to a fantastic Social Value ROI figure of nearly £24,000! We also inspired our colleagues at Fedcap Canada and Fedcap Inc. in the US to partner with us increasing our outreach to 483 total internal and external volunteeres that contributed 2,300 hours! To learn more about this initiative including all the wonderful feedback from our charities who got involved click here

Fundraising Activities

We have collaborated with a range of charities to help facilitate our social value events and initiatives. In addition to the charities we partnered with for our organisational volunteering day, we supported a further 11 through our local community projects. In total, we created relationships with roughly 34 charities that contributed to our SV-ROI.

Our Partners

SROI: £16,983,546 delivered through Our Partners:

Tackling Economic Inequality

In 2024, we implemented business excellence workshops that enhanced our reporting methodology to track and record SME spending with a total of £1.7m externally validated by the Social Value Portal. This year, we have increased this figure to almost £2m as we continue to prioritise understanding the opportunities to invest locally and engage a diverse range of businesses across our contracts.

Local Recruitment

We continue to encourage our delivery partners to recruit locally, ensuring we’re supporting the communities we serve. To-date, this has equated to over 425 FTE employed, delivering an SV-ROI of over £15m.

Embedding social value into procurement and everyday practice

We apply best-in-class procurement and partnership management practices to support our supply chain. We’re committed to working with our partners to capacity-build them and embed social value and environmental awareness into all aspects of delivery. This year, we continued our Social Value Network and Forums to share best practice and provide Social Value and Impact Management awareness. We updated our Social Value and Sustainability Training as part of induction and offered opportunities for 1:1 mentoring support.

Within our tendering and procurement processes, we implemented ethical standards monitoring to proactively reduce the risk of modern slavery, manage cyber security and promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.  Furthermore, we created a Sustainability Engagement Survey for our partners including landlords and companies within our supply chain that met a spend threshold of 70%. Our aim is to engage with 10% of our partners per year, working towards our 2035 Net Zero objective. Across our tier one delivery partners, we’re happy to report that 100% are signatories to promoting the 6 Standards of Mental Health at Work and we are exploring how to offer additional mentoring opportunities to embed NHS England’s 10 ways to reduce health inequalities model within our supply chain.

Net Zero

Our Environment

SROI: £24,016 delivered through Our Environment:

Fedcap’s path to Net Zero

Over the reporting year, we accelerated our energy efficiency and carbon reduction efforts. We achieved ESOS certification in March 2025 and used audit insights to drive action – working with landlords to implement smart thermostat solutions including installing a smart A/C control in our Brighton office.

We have developed a new Energy Policy setting clear expectations for efficient energy use, emissions reduction and regulatory compliance. To support this, we have also developed a behavioural-change programme, including carbon-literacy training and new initiative to cut travel-related emissions.

We also implemented a strengthened environmental audit process, empowering Social Value and Sustainability Champion to conduct bi-annual audits co-designed with industry experts. These audits identify opportunities to improve waste management and environmental practices, reinforcing our commitment to responsible Net Zero progress.

Tree Planting

At the start of 2023, we planted 59 trees in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This small project has grown into a commitment to plant one tree for every customer on our programmes that start work. Over the past two years, together with our tree planting partner Eden Reforestation Projects, we’ve planted over 20,000 trees.

This year, we’ve partnered with TreeApp, successfully planting over 8000 trees, bringing our worldwide tree count to 28,336 trees planted!

Carbon Emissions

Over the year, we’ve continued to demonstrate our commitment to accountability and transparency as we use our expert Sustainability Consultants to track, report, monitor, and regularly review our Net Zero strategic approach.

We’re committed to improving the quality and quantity of our Greenhouse Gas inventory. Our long-term targets for Scope 1 and 2 are to reduce to zero emissions and 100% renewable electricity. For Scope 3, we’ll continue to ensure our carbon emission inventory accurately reflects structural changes and use optimal reporting methods, engaging with 80% of our supply chain to reduce half our emissions by 2030.

This report offers an overview of the social, economic, community, and environmental value delivered by Fedcap, contract-to-date up until September 2025. The figures portrayed in this report have been calculated using the National TOMS Framework under the direction and external validation of the Social Value Portal. The Social Value Portal was engaged to define the measurement framework and validate data for robust reporting.

The measurement framework used by Fedcap is aligned with the National Social Value Measurement Framework – TOM System, developed by the National Social Value Taskforce, a cross-sector organisation that combines public and private sector organisations. The Framework sets the standard for reporting on SROI (Social Return on Investment) and turns activity into £SLEV (Social and Local Economic Value Add) allowing organisations to report their overall contribution to society in financial and non-financial terms.

Plans for the Future

“We will proactively support the health and wellbeing of our people and also strengthen our volunteering programme, enabling colleagues to make a positive impact through meaningful local partnerships.

“Working closely with our supply chain partners, we will build their awareness and capability to integrate social value and sustainability into their operations. Alongside this, we will continue to foster a healthy, inclusive culture – one that reflects and celebrates the diverse and growing communities we support.
