Fedcap wins mental health contract as it grows its health practice

06/05/2025

Fedcap has begun delivering a mental health contract across Surrey, as it continues to grow its health and wellbeing practice in the UK.

The leading not-for-profit organisation has been selected as one of Surrey County Council’s trusted partners to deliver specialist mental health advisory support within the WorkWell service, drawing on its experience of person-centred health and employment initiatives across the South of England including the successful delivery of the Restart Scheme.

Individuals facing challenges in their job role or who’ve recently become unemployed due to mental health concerns, will have access to personalised one-to-one and group sessions led by a qualified and experienced mental health advisor. These sessions will include an individualised assessment and action plan, tailored strategies and techniques to improve mental health, supporting people to stay in work or successfully return to work.

Adhering to a clinical governance framework, Fedcap will work alongside Surrey’s wider WorkWell team and health-related services including GPs, community mental health teams and NHS Talking Therapies.

Paul Wickson, Fedcap’s Health and Wellbeing Director, said: “We’re excited to work with Surrey County Council on this new WorkWell health advisory service.

“Our aim is to help keep people at work or get them back into the workplace quickly by supporting them to manage their mental health conditions. As well as being able to call upon our experienced mental health advisors, we also provide access to innovative AI-enabled technology to help people cope with issues such as anxiety.”

Since launching its health practice last year, Fedcap has been delivering pioneering programmes and pilots on behalf of local authorities and health and care partnerships across the UK, drawing from our innovative parent group in the US which has decades of experience in health provisions.

Brian Bell, President of Fedcap Employment, said: “We believe in good work as part of a healthy life and are committed to bridging the gap between health and work, employing a dedicated team of health and mental health professionals to deliver services tailored to individuals.

“This new service marks an important step in our mission to bring specialist mental health support closer to communities. We’re proud to be partnering with Surrey County Council to help people manage their mental health and take positive steps towards working independence. It’s part of our wider commitment to place-based partnerships that change lives through work, health and opportunity.”
