Brian Bell

Chief Executive Officer

Brian counts himself incredibly proud to be Chief Executive of Fedcap. He’s worked nearly all of his adult life in the employability sector and played a part in helping people change their lives and find suitable, sustainable employment. He first started out as a JobCentre adviser in the 1980s and has worked his way up to become a leading innovator and respected figure in the industry.

Brian says,
“I’ve been incredibly fortunate to meet some remarkable people during my 35 years in the sector. Those people inspired me to be the best I can be. And I’m proud to say that the team at Fedcap are doing the same for others each and every day, working with those who find themselves disadvantaged within our communities.”

Lynn Thompson

Chief Financial Officer

Lynn’s career in the employability sector spans 25 years. She started out as a project co-ordinator for a pilot scheme run by the Department for Work and Pensions, which was a precursor to private organisations running employability schemes. After this, she moved into claims administration.

At an early stage in her career, Lynn was selected to train as an accountant, beginning a seven-year qualification in which time she took on a number of finance roles including Budget and Performance Manager, Corporate Management Accountant and Commercial Sales Accountant before becoming Treasury Accountant and Head of Finance. Lynn has been Fedcap’s Chief Financial Officer since 2019.

Lynn says,
“I am passionate about fostering the right financial culture, helping to implement Fedcap’s vision and drive forward the direction of the business.”

Susan Paterson

Operations Director

Susan began her career as a civil servant with the Ministry of Defence. Since that time she has worked across many different roles in the employability sector over more than 20 years. She has worked as an Employment Adviser, Performance Manager and Implementation Manager. Susan joined Fedcap as Operations Director in 2019.

Susan says,
“My day-to-day responsibilities include leading the operations team across the UK to support our people and enable them to get as many customers as possible into sustainable employment.”

Dean Tams

Commercial Director

Dean Tams’s early career saw him working across several high-profile initiatives including Leicester's New Deal for Communities, which helped to secure much-needed investment into schools, employment services, community projects, housing schemes and local health services.

Throughout his career he has worked to foster collaboration between the public, private and voluntary sectors to deliver projects that make a genuine difference and represent value for money. Outside of work, Dean volunteers his time to help coach and mentor others, giving back and investing in the wellbeing of others.

Dean says,
“I’m honoured to be part of a high-performing and progressive charity like Fedcap. As an executive team, we are privileged to have the opportunity to harness our passion, expertise and leadership to effect change within the communities we serve. As an organisation we can forge a brighter future for those who need our support and have a measurable impact on economic wellbeing.”
