Our Social Impact

Why is Social Value important?

It is a part of what we do.

As an organisation that delivers public services across the UK, it is our role and our commitment to support our funders by delivering services to improve economic wellbeing. At Fedcap, our aim is to deliver an added social value of 25% across our contracts by investing in what matters most for our people, our customers, our partners, our environment, and our communities.

It has a global impact.

The United Nations has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for tackling the world’s biggest challenges like poverty, inequality, and climate change. Our social value impact contributes to a much larger, global movement on improving the UN’s 17 SDGs.

Investing in our people and customers

We are committed to being an employer of choice by:

  • Embedding our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Strategy within all areas of the business supporting colleague-led EDI networks, access to a robust EDI training plan and supporting gender parity within senior management
  • Inspiring people to lead healthier lives through our WeCare and ensuring all our people have access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), We Assist
  • Building sustainable careers for our people through ongoing development and acquisition of skills, knowledge and expertise through accredited learning, apprenticeship and mentoring opportunities

Investing in our partners

We understand that we can’t achieve success on our own. That’s why we are dedicated to building long-term partnerships that support supply chain resilience and build capacity.

Through mentoring, we aim to support the development of our partners to become Disability Confident Leaders or mental health advocates by embedding the six Standards of Mental Health at Work within our supply chain. Our goal is to empower our partners with knowledge by providing access to our learning and development systems including accredited, modern slavery, cyber security, and EDI training.

Investing in our environment

In the midst of a climate emergency, having a positive social impact means reducing our environmental impact. This begins with embedding sustainability practices into our organisation and our procurement policies. It also means reporting on our emissions and committing to a carbon reduction plan that will help us reach Net Zero by 2035.

As an organisation we have committed to planting one tree for every customer that moves back into work.

Investing in our communities

Our priority is to become an integral part of our communities by:

- Recruiting locally

- Supporting small businesses and our supply chain

- Investing in local social value initiatives

- Supporting our people to volunteer in community project

- Investing in the next generation by working with local schools and colleges
