Fedcap has welcomed Lancashire Women to its Preston office after the charity’s premises flooded.

Local charity Lancashire Women issued an appeal through Preston Community Network looking for a temporary home when water damage put its Church Street venue out of use.

Fedcap, which delivers employability support and health and wellbeing services in the city, offered to host the charity while repairs are carried out.

Kara Raynor, Programme Manager at Lancashire Women, said: “We are thankful for the kindness and support shown to our staff and service users over the recent weeks – it has helped us maintain much needed support to some of the most vulnerable women within our community.”

Philippa Perkin, the charity’s Group Facilitator running sessions in Preston, added: “Fedcap have been such a blessing both to our team and also the women who have attended our groups.

“For some it has been hard just to enter into a building, yet the team have been so welcoming and so supportive in making them feel comfortable. And for me personally, it’s been so lovely to connect with everyone, I have so enjoyed being around them.”

Steven Hogarth, Fedcap’s Regional Director – North, said: “We’re really happy to have been able to help Lancashire Women find a temporary home. Our Preston team are fantastic and I’m so pleased to hear they have made such a difference in supporting the group and been so accommodating.

“Fedcap is firmly established in Preston and we’re happy to work in partnership with local organisations to support the communities we serve.”
