Helping our people succeed through apprenticeships
10/02/2025

At Fedcap, we believe in investing in our people, providing opportunities for growth and development at every stage of their careers. One of the most exciting ways we do this is through our apprenticeship programme, which allows our employees to gain valuable qualifications while continuing their work.
Here, we showcase the journey of Michele, one of Fedcap’s delivery managers, who recently completed her Level 5 Operations Manager apprenticeship and how it has transformed her professional path.
Michele had built a successful career through her hard work and dedication but felt she lacked formal qualifications and that it was a disadvantage to not understand the theories around business.
From the moment the conversation began, Fedcap acted quickly to make the opportunity a reality. Both Michele and her manager were keen to get her onto the course as soon as possible, so much so that they we’re able to get her onto a course that had already started.
Michele said: “Choosing to do an apprenticeship was one of the best decisions I made, especially considering I wasn’t very academic and didn’t always feel that traditional classroom learning suited me.
“The hands-on, practical approach of the apprenticeship allowed me to learn while working, which was exactly what I needed to improve my skills. Instead of being stuck in a classroom or at home at night studying, I was applying what I learned directly to my apprenticeship, which made everything feel more relevant and easier to grasp.
“I did need to be organised with my day as I needed the time to write up everything I learned. Apprenticeships are designed to be completed within worktime, however, I wanted to make sure I gave it 100%, so did take some time after work to complete writing up my learnings.
“It was rewarding to see my growth in action, and I could immediately put my new skills into practice, boosting my confidence and performance at work and supporting my team better. The apprenticeship gave me the chance to learn in a way that felt natural to me, while also helping me build the skills I needed to progress in my career.”
Victoria Duncan, Fedcap’s Learning and Development Director, said: “Our apprenticeship programme is designed with flexibility and work-based application in mind, ensuring that our people can balance their workload with their studies.
“By providing access to qualifications, structured support, and a learning environment tailored to work-based experiences, Fedcap is ensuring our people have every opportunity to thrive.”
