In the spring of 1935, The Federation of the Handicapped and Disabled was founded by three wounded World War 1 veterans who struggled to make ends meet during the Great Depression. We are proud of our roots, and we want to continue to honour and support veterans and the sacrifices service personnel, both regular and reservist, veterans and military families make to our organisation, our community and to the country. As part of our commitment to actively support the Armed Forces community, we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant. The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly. Take a look at our signed Armed Forces Covenant to find out more about how we will uphold the key principles of the covenant. Armed Forces Covenant.pdf
