Meeting recruitment needs at scale!

In Brighton, our team created a bespoke solution for Bright Horizons nurseries. A conversation that started at a local job fair as Bright Horizons were looking for support filling vacancies in some new locations they acquired. Through further conversations about the scope and the impact we could do together, we had a pool of customers that just completed a Level 2 childcare course with Whitehead Ross, that would be looking for work soon.
We knew they would be a great fit for the different locations they were recruiting for. They were looking to recruit about 40 – 50 roles across these sites. As we were aware of the interview process, our tutor developed a tailored workshop tailored to the interview style, organisation and roles available, getting the customers job ready. Many of our customers had a form of childcare qualifications and many had transferrable skills as parents. The interview took place in our Brighton office with most customers offered a job.
Building on this success, we campaigned across our office for more customers looking for childcare roles. We pre-screened these customers, conducted a workshop to prepare them for the roles and assistance gathering right to work documents. At the second interview day, Regional Director Joanne mentioned that “they were blown away by the quality of candidates they received.” 20 people attended this interview day with 18 offered a job. Matching these roles to the customers worked for both employer and customer, most candidates found a location within 10 minutes’ walk of their home.
Customers benefit from flexible hours, onboarding training and the potential for NVQ level 1-3 qualifications from Bright Horizons. They benefit from support from our people to gather their right to work documents, compliances and in-work support for 6 months for additional support. With a third interview date being arranged and more customers attending interviews on an adhoc basis, we are confident there is scope for extending our support to help more customers.
